Marie Cecile Muhorakeye is an accomplished agronomist and emerging scholar in crop protection, plant health, and sustainable agricultural development. With more than five years of combined experience in teaching, research, and community outreach, she has built a strong foundation in soil health, crop physiology, horticulture, biocontrol, and agribusiness-oriented training. She holds a Master of Science in Crop Protection (Plant Pathology) from Kenyatta University and additional international credentials in Integrated Crop Management, Cross-Border Agriculture, and advanced agricultural training from Switzerland and Israel. In her role as an Assistant Lecturer at Rwanda Polytechnic – Musanze College, Marie Cecile delivers both theoretical and practical modules in horticulture, crop protection, and agribusiness, while supervising student research that advances local food systems. She is proficient in curriculum development using the DACUM approach and actively supports youth-focused agricultural entrepreneurship and capacity-building programs. Her research work—particularly on fungal endophytes, biostimulants, and eco-friendly crop disease management—has resulted in peer-reviewed publications in Pathogens, Scientific Reports, and Discover Applied Sciences, as well as conference presentations on international platforms. Marie Cecile’s professional journey includes impactful field experience with icipe in Kenya, Nature Rwanda, and commercial farms in Israel, where she strengthened her expertise in climate-smart agriculture, biocontrol research, and seed production systems. She is deeply committed to empowering youth and women in agrifood value chains, advancing sustainable food security, and fostering partnerships that enhance agricultural innovation in Rwanda and beyond. Fluent in English and Kinyarwanda, she brings strong communication, analytical, and facilitation skills to every assignment she undertakes.
