Gabriel I. Uwaifo, MD, began his academic journey at the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria, where he earned his MBBS in 1990. He completed his rotating internship at the University College Hospital in Ibadan, Nigeria, in 1991. Uwaifo’s early medical training included community service in the National Health Service Corps of Nigeria and subsequent residency training in Internal Medicine at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, Nigeria. His pursuit of excellence continued with further specialization in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology at the University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington, CT, where he completed his internal medicine internship and residency before becoming a Chief Medical Resident.
