He continued his academic pursuits with a Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences at Lanzhou University, completing his doctoral studies in 2015 under the guidance of Professor Wenshou Tian.

Since July 2020, Dr. Dingzhu Hu has held the position of Professor at the School of Atmospheric Sciences at Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology (NUIST), Nanjing, China. Prior to this, he served as an Academic Visitor at the University of Reading from September 2018 to August 2019, and as a Lecturer at the School of Atmospheric Sciences at NUIST from July 2017 to June 2020. He started his post-doctoral career at NUIST from September 2015 to June 2017, working closely with Professor Zhaoyong Guan.
