Mazaher Maghsoudloo embarked on his academic journey in the field of software engineering, earning his B.Sc. from Islamic Azad University in Sari, Iran, in 2003. His passion for computer science led him to pursue an M.Sc. in Computer Science at Shahid Beheshti University in Tehran, where he graduated in 2014. Driven by a keen interest in the intersection of computational methods and biological sciences, he completed his PhD in Bioinformatics from Tehran University, Kish International Campus, in 2020.

Mazaher has held several significant positions throughout his career, reflecting his expertise and dedication to bioinformatics and computational biology. Since 2022, he has been serving in the Department of Genetics, Faculty of Advanced Science and Technology, at Tehran Medical Sciences, Islamic Azad University, Tehran, Iran. He contributed extensively to various research projects at the Laboratory of Systems Biology & Bioinformatics from 2015 to 2022, enhancing the understanding of complex biological systems. His long tenure at The Center of Research and Training for Occupational Technical Safety and Health in Tehran, Iran, from 2008 to 2023, highlights his commitment to integrating bioinformatics with occupational health and safety research.

Investigation of gene co-expression networks in chronic lung diseases using a systems biology approach (PhD Thesis) from 2016 to 2020. Genome-wide copy number analysis of circulating tumor cells in breast cancer patients with liver metastasis (Major Cultivation Projects of Achievement Transformation in Sichuan Colleges and Universities) from 2017 to 2020. Comparative mRNA/micro-RNA co-expression network driving melanomagenesis by promoting epithelial–mesenchymal transition and vasculogenic mimicry signaling (supported by the Southwest Medical University, Sichuan Province, China) from 2019 to 2021. Treatment of malignant pleural effusion in non-small cell lung cancer with VEGF-directed therapy (supported by the Southwest Medical University and the Research Foundation of the Science and Technology Department of Sichuan Province) from 2017 to 2020.

He has expertise in expression data analysis using microarray and NGS, and he is well-versed in bioinformatics tools such as WGCNA, Limma, DEseq2, EdgeR, Seurat, Scanpy, Cytoscape, Keras, and Graphpad Prism. Fatemeh Jafari Pour, born on December 14, 1990, embarked on her academic journey with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Lorestan University of Medical Sciences, graduating in 2013. She continued her studies at the same institution, earning a Master of Science in Critical Care Nursing in 2018. Her MSc thesis, “Assessment of patients’ perception about humane caring quality in critical care units via the Persian version of the Revised Humane Caring Scale,” was supervised by Dr. Fateme Goudarzi and advised by Dr. Farzad Ebrahimzadeh and Dr. Tarja Kvist.

🏥Professional Endeavors 

Fatemeh’s professional career began as a nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Madani Hospital, where she worked from 2013 to 2015. She transitioned to academia, serving as a clinical instructor for nursing students in various institutions, including Khorramabad Nursing and Midwifery School and Dezful University of Medical Sciences. Since 2021, she has been a faculty member and clinical instructor at the Nursing School, Behbahan Faculty of Medical Sciences.
