She earned her Ph.D. in Ecology and Conservation of Natural Resources from Universidade Federal de Uberlândia (UFU) in 2009, with a sandwich period at Universidad de Sevilla, Spain, examining the spatio-temporal distribution of floral resources used by Xylocopa species and their interactions with cerrado plants.
